What would you do if I sang out of tune? Would you stand up and walk out on me? Well, thankfully I’m not singing. But I am going to show you why you can’t get by on your own on social and why you shouldn’t try to get by without friends. So It Begins It was July 6th, 1957 and The Quarrymen’s lead singer, John Lennon was introduced to Paul McCartney around 8pm that night. Paul showed Lennon how to tune a guitar, and they ended up talking for a little while and The Quarrymen eventually asked Paul to join the group. You know the rest…
Finding your Paul
Some say the Quarrymen could have went on to become famous without Paul (ridiculous). Others say that without him, John’s name would have never made it out of town. But both groups agree that without each other, they couldn’t have gone anywhere. Let’s look at John Lennon. He had natural talent and a band behind him. They were already playing a gig when he first met Paul so that meant that they could at least book small time gigs. Could they have made it without Paul? One will never know. Since they didn’t, let’s take into account the attachment that these two had to each other and their affect on the world. You need to find your Paul. Their is another person out there that shares your same goals and ideals. Sometimes they are thrust in your way, and other times you have to go searching for them. Either way, the point is to find them because you are stronger with them, your business looks better with them, and sounds better too. Forget about the fact that you want to be making money online, that’s a given! We all want that, but it’s what we do between that time and this is what’s important to our marketing. You won’t make money without Paul. Let’s Look At Facts Since I love The Beatles, let’s look at the similarities between the Quarrymen and your business and how their decision to invite Paul into the group can help you find your own Paul in business:
- Paul was English- you may laugh at this, but the simple fact is, Paul spoke the same language as the rest of the band.
Find someone that speaks the same language that you do in business. Using tools like Nod3x, CircleCount, and CircloScope can really help you lock down those people that are saying the same things you are, going to the same places, and having the same interests.
- Paul was talented- He contributed to the group.
This is important because there are other people online that are trying to find YOU to help them with their business online, and while that’s ok, there are people out there that expect you to carry the weight of the business and not give anything to contribute themselves. Understanding that the person you find is of course expected to contribute to your business, however, you are expected to contribute as well.
- Paul was committed.
Finding someone that is as committed as you are at reaching their goals on social is nothing short of a miracle. That’s not to say that this person isn’t out there, I’m just implying that’s why you have to understand how important this search actually is. What if John had met me(saying I was born back then)? Their story would have definitely been different seeing as how there is no need for a stuttering hillbilly in that group.
The Final Thought
In the end it’s all going to be up to how serious you take your business on social. Dreaming about becoming famous and winging it all the time isn’t going to work. You need to understand that you cannot get from point A to point B successfully without building relationships and creating connections that will help you succeed. All of this is done by using the tips from above, but you have to realize that before any of this will work, you must first extend yourself and become a servant to people. You must put your needs on the back burner for a few months to help others first. Don’t worry, being truly passionate and helpful to people will come back to you after a while. In the meantime, keep searching. Paul is out there.
