Relationship marketing has the power to predict the future of your business on social media. Think about it. Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up every morning and know what to do to ensure a successful day? There’s one thing that binds us all, even the spammers, and that’s the idea of success. The only reason the spammers don’t get their’s is, well, you know why.
But why do you know the future of spammers? Can you predict the future after all?
Perhaps there’s hope for you yet. Let me explain how relationship marketing can help you predict the future of your business, not someone else’s.
The Forgotten Relationship Marketing Idea
For something to be forgotten it has to first be realized into existence. Whether or not you’re actively using relationship marketing in your social media strategy is not the question. The question is why have you forgotten about it?
As a small child you were taught the importance of being kind to people. You were taught why manners are important and the reason you should be on your best behavior.
When we grow up these ideas are instilled in us to the point that most of this comes second nature to some people. Then again, the way people portray themselves online, you would think that they have no thought for how others see them. They are looking to that end goal, which is success, but are not seeing the fifty different goals between here and there.
The way people see you
Your personal brand is just as important as your business brand. The way people see you has an affect on the future of your business and in relationship marketing. Understanding how to act is important. Using people as stepping stones on the way to your goal is not the way to bring the right light to your personal brand.
There is a lot of different people out there that we all have to deal with. If you’re a marketer on social media, then you understand this idea. You will find people of all sorts, but they are all looking for success. That’s what binds us all together. The only difference is the way you act on the way to success. If you’re merely using people to get what you want, then sooner or later, that way of life will catch up to you eventually.
The best advisors, helpers, and friends, are not those who tell us how to act in special cases, but who give us, out of themselves, the ardent spirit, and desire, to act right. –Phillip Brookes
Seeing The Future in Relationship Marketing
Let me get my crystal ball. You see, relationship marketing is when you put all of your eggs in the basket (case) of people, a lot of them get broken. But I would do it all over again and again, because now I know that even though people are inconsiderate, unkind, weird, and all around moody, there’s nothing like it when you show them something they can use that can help them.
Most people don’t even think about relationship marketing because it’s not as exciting and romantic as all the other ideals you can set your goal towards. However, until you start to realize that none of the goals you have set for yourself will be achieved until you have built a solid relationship with people will this even happen.
Relationship marketing has the power to help you see your future. Even though some people are shady and untrustworthy, that gives you an edge on the rest of the group.
You don’t have to be that way.
The first step in relationship marketing is to remember what your mom told you. Be kind. Be polite, and be helpful. When I first started on social, there were so many people out just for themselves that I thought I was a complete weirdo for just being nice. Eventually I found that people were slowly starting to conform to the way I approached them.
So how do you want to be perceived? Your future hangs in the balance of the ideals and actions you present to the public on social and on your blog. I know you hear people preaching be different in marketing, and for a second, this could be misunderstood. You may think that people mean to be different in only the marketing strategies that you present. However, when I think of this, I immediately think of the personal brand. How can you be different? Sure you may have the same strategies as someone else, you may post on the same day to the same target market, and the only way that you could be different is to find another smaller niche so as to bring more targeted people toward you.
That’s a common misconception, but it’s still not relationship marketing.
You can thrive in a broad niche by simply being a different person, not different in marketing. I am living proof of this very idea.
I swim in the same pool where many big fish inhabit and have found a way to carve out a successful business simply by portraying my own personality.
I realize you may be scratching your head right now, so let me explain.
- In the future you will see more opportunities for your business
- In the future people will be drawn to your personal brand
- The sacrifices that you make for others today, will be remembered tomorrow
- The time you spend for/with others will be an investment in the future of your success
Relationship marketing is not a fancy strategy that will make you successful overnight, but it’s one of the few strategies that you can bank on for the future of your online business.
Relationship Marketing & You
People are used to the sharks. They expect for someone to do them wrong and sell them up the creek. However, in the past year that I have successfully swam with these giants, I have shown people that they don’t have to worry when they’re with me. They can really open up and not expect me to tell their secrets. They can trust me and build a positive relationship with me because I truly want to help them.
This is your story in a few short weeks. Change the way you see people and you will change your whole outlook on marketing yourself to social and your blog. You will start to see people be drawn to you like a magnet. No, this will not make you rich overnight, as relationship marketing is a strategy for the long run, but it will bring you success over time because a man that has friends is truly a wealthy man.
